Warm and sunny today. Doug and I went to happy hour at Beaudroux's on the Bayou about 4 pm and sat in the sun and ate crabcakes. There is a marina there which afforded lots of beautiful scenery. Then we were off to The Strand and the beginnings of Mardi Gras 10 day celebration. The Strand was blocked from traffic and vendors had set up. We did share a foot long corny dog, corn on the cob, lemon creme ice cream (to clear the palette, of course)Macadamenia White Chocolate Toll House Cookie and then on to the Saltwater Grill for corn crab chowder and tomato bisque soups with parmesaean crusted bread. Whew! People were starting to throw beads from the balconeys and crowds were growing. Tomorrow is the big day with 4 parades. Lots of photos today.
