Who doesn't love a parade? Mardi Gras in Galveston has it all. 3 parades in one day and many more to come over the next week. It seems the main purpose of the parades today were to throw beads at the viewers. Young and old alike were shoulder to shoulder stretching and grabbing for those plastic beads. The parade had pirates, beauty queens, roller derby girls, horses, chinese dragons, surfers and Elvis.
But before all this fun, we hit the beach this morning shelling. It was a treasure trove of mussels, clams pen shells and small angel wings. We filled the purple bucket. I took some excellent shots of Doug being beamed up by Scotty. Did I mention how beautiful the beach was this morning? We had breakfast and late afternoon meals outside on the deck. Here's a great one of Doug having breakfast with Ariel the cat.
